About Kinex
Kinex has been set up to provide the UK’s small businesses with their telecoms, broadband, energy and water at a price that’s right.
We provide essential services you can rely on, and we do it in an honest, simple and effective way.
We offer a ‘one-provider, one-bill’ service and outstanding value for money.
And it’s all supported by our dedicated customer service team. Our head office is in Manchester, and we have 12 regional offices across the UK. Our customer service centres are all UK based, and we use local rate numbers instead of premium rate ones - and we can be reached quickly too, with calls answered by a real person; no recorded messages or automated menus.

Each month, the kinex Community Support Scheme provides funding to worthwhile causes in local communities. The latest donation of £500 has gone to the 261st Birmingham (St Edburghas Yardley) Scout Group. Scouts ‘believe in preparing young people with skills for life’ and help over 460,000 young people each week enjoy fun and adventure whilst gaining valuable life skills.
The 261st Scout Group applied for kinex funding to help them restart some of their outdoor adventure fun. They haven’t been able to take their Scouts on a group camp for around five years as their old equipment breached health and safety guidelines. Without suitable cookers, they were unable to cook food and were constrained to indoor accommodation which meant the Scouts were unable to learn camping and survival skills.
Some of the Scout Group are also looking to achieve their Queen Scout Award and Duke of Edinburgh Awards. This means that they need specialist lightweight cookers suitable for a 5-day hike and camp. With the funding, the Scout Group has purchased the perfect equipment to suit their needs and are excited to be starting camps back up in the new year.
Assistant Group Scout Leader Luke James applied for the scheme after seeing other worthwhile causes kinex had supported including the Murton Trust, Northenden Community School and, the last initiative of 2018, a unique War Memorial on Armistice Day. This round of funding has been well spent and plans are underway.
“Thanks to kinex we have organised our first group camp to be done in September followed by one in December 2019. Our first set of expeditions will be starting from March 2019 and will happen throughout the year. The first four young people achieving their Queen Scout Award and Duke of Edinburgh Awards late 2019 into early 2020.” said Luke.
On the sponsorship kinex PR and Content Manager Molly Chong added: “It’s fantastic to be able to help the 261st Birmingham Scout Group get their camps up and running. Not only do they now have safe equipment, they’ll be able to get back to the outdoors which is so important – especially in today’s video game era. We look forward to hearing all about the camps!”

Here at kinex, we are invested in supporting communities by regularly granting financial awards to those groups making a real difference in their local area. Most recently, we’ve been involved in fantastic initiatives from Little Eagles, West Sussex Mediation Service and The Message Enterprise Centre located just around the corner from kinex HQ.
This month we were able to show our support for our local area once again, this time for the ‘Friends of Northenden Community School’ Parent-Teacher Association. The Friends carry out activities on behalf of the school with the aim of raising additional funds, which are then used to enhance the children’s experience and provide curriculum enrichment. Past fundraising has seen the Friends improve the Community School playground, fund visits from theatre groups and upgrade the equipment used for school productions.
This year, the Friends are fundraising to support the school in refurbishing its ICT Suite and upgrading the computers which are used by all pupils at the school.
Playing a large part in raising those vital funds is the annual Summer Fair, run by the Friends, which took place on Saturday 16th June and featured a fun-filled range of activities for children and adults alike. kinex pledged to match the funding of the games activities and were proud to present £400 to the school in their final assembly of the year on Friday 6th July.
