CONEMAUGH HOSPITAL

Medical provider Conemaugh Health System serves the residents of western Pennsylvania through three hospitals and a rehabilitation center. Its operations include Memorial Medical Center, Meyersdale Medical Center, Miners Medical Center, and Crichton Rehabilitation Center. Altogether, its facilities boast about 600 beds. Conemaugh Health System also operates a network of community health care facilities. It offers such services as regional cancer, cardiovascular, and neurosciences centers; home health care and home medical equipment; general care facilities; and specialized facilities for managing pain and wounds. Conemaugh also operates Penn Highlands Health Plan, a PPO.

Operations

Memorial Medical Center, Conemaugh's 545-bed flagship hospital, is a tertiary care teaching hospital with a Level I trauma center and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. As the largest teaching hospital in the region, Memorial Medical Center offers eight medical residency programs, a pharmaceutical residency program, a school of nursing, and a school of allied health. For trauma patients, Memorial Medical Center provides Medstar Aeromedical Helicopter Transport.

Its Conemaugh Physician Group and Conemaugh Home Health provide care throughout the health system's 11-county service area.

Through a partnership with Northrop Grumman and the Department of Defense, Conemaugh Health System installed an electronic medical records system at the Memorial Medical Center.
