About The Charlton School
The Charlton School is a small, clinically focused, therapeutic residential and day NYS approved 853 school for students in grades 8-12. We provide a therapeutic learning community utilizing evidence-based, individualized, clinical and educational services, with the goal of helping students and families successfully navigate adolescence and achieve improved mental health.
In addition to smaller class size ratios (6:1:1) offered at the school, students participate
in multiple therapies throughout the week, including art therapy, equine therapy, family
and individual clinical therapy- all with the goal of improving student mental health and
independence. The Charlton School fills a critical need for students and their families
who have not been able to be successful in their home district or school programs. It
accepts students with acute and chronic mental health needs and provides both an
education and therapeutic support that allows students and their families to regain
their mental health and independence.
