About Satanta District Hospital, Clinics & Long Term Care
The Satanta District Hospital is a tax supported organization, organized in 1952 for the purpose of providing health care services. A 5 member elected Board of Trustees governs Satanta District Hospital.
Satanta District Hospital was originally established serving the community with 13 licensed beds. In 1963, the Long Term Care Unit was added providing accommodations for 24 residents. However in 1999, the Satanta District Hospital and Long Term Care Unit were remodeled to provide a fresh and modernized look along with increasing the capacity of the Long Term Care to 35 beds. In August 2000, our facility became a Critical Access Hospital with St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City being our sponsoring facility.
In 2012, the community of Satanta supported the opening of a beautiful new 14 unit Independent Living Facility. Today we currently have 13 licensed acute hospital beds and 44 licensed long term care beds. Satanta District Hospital is also part of the Great Plains Health Alliance and Pioneer Health Network.
