About Us
Lute Supply, a multi-state multi-branch wholesale distributor of plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, bath, and hardware had our humble beginnings in a small garage in Portsmouth, Ohio in 1952. Hobert and Izetta Lute began servicing pumps for rural residential water systems. Realizing an opportunity to service their customers as a one stop plumbing supply they began to add to their product offering. The reputation of hard work and providing extra value spread throughout southern Ohio.
In 1979 the company moved its operations to 347 Third Street in the former Vulcan Corporation factory. Christopher H. Lute, son of Hobert and Izetta, became president in 1984. The Company continued to grow adding additional sales counters, showrooms, and warehousing. The company was one of the first wholesale plumbing companies to convert its entire operation to computers, a move that set the stage for future growth and branch expansion. In 1986, Lute Supply opened its first branch operation in Huntington, West Virginia, and began offering HVAC equipment and accessories that accelerated additional branch expansion efforts.
The company now boasts 14 locations in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Indiana with more locations planned. All locations are locally managed. Jason Lute represents the third generation of the family business serves as President and Chief Operating Officer. Our dedicated staff includes some of the industry�s best in sales, distribution, warehousing, administrative and management professionals.
Lute Supply has earned awards by Goodman and Amana for outstanding sales growth, market share growth and excellence in distribution. We currently hold national rankings in the Supply House Times PREMIER 150 Wholesale Distributors and Top 100 Wholesalers by The Wholesaler Magazine. From our modest beginnings, Lute Supply has grown into a thriving business that has an eye on growth, continuous improvements and a passion for delivering great products to our customers and community.
