About Anew Therapeutic Services, Inc.
Anew Therapeutic Services, Inc. is committed to preventing the perpetration of sexual violence.
Our primary mission is to avert unhealthy, illegal, abusive and injurious sexual behavior through our work specializing in the treatment and management of sex offenders living in our California Communities. Our program is informed by research and best practices in this forensic therapy.
We work collaboratively with community supervision professionals (State Parole & County Probation Departments), Law Enforcement Agents, Victim Advocates and Officers of the Court in the communities we serve to understand and more effectively manage the sexual offenders on our caseloads. This approach is called the Containment Model. Mandated by state law, it provides us with a variety of perspectives on each client, serving to make the community safer.
The focus of our work is on determining and understanding risk and protective factors for the perpetration of sexual violence by our clients. If we can understand why our clients have committed offenses, what factors put them at risk for recidivating as well as what elements of their lives and character may help to prevent them from offending again, we can help to stop them from creating more victims. Our program, certified by the California Sex Offender Management Board, utilizes evidence based practices and emerging research to prevent further sexual violence by those who have abused.
