About Lighthouse School, Inc.
Lighthouse School, Inc. is a school and treatment center with over 50 years of excellence in the field of Special Education. We work with school districts throughout NH and MA to provide treatment and academics to students who most need the help.

Our services are designed to promote total life development, both in school and at home. Students live in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine, and are transported to and from Lighthouse School daily.

We have successfully helped a diverse range of children for over 50 years, providing quality treatment and educational services to meet their needs.

Lighthouse is a treatment center. Students typically come to Lighthouse School having struggled in other settings; especially those with a more educational focus. These challenges go far beyond the classroom setting and may accurately be described as life challenges. Our primary objective is to help all students gain the insights and skills necessary to successfully master all challenges in life: at school, at home, and in the community.

The Foundation
Our culture is the sum of what all of us really do because we believe it. Culture has a powerful impact on staff and kids. It expresses what everyone does -- not just what we think or say or hope for, but what we really do.

We build a culture that supports staff development, facilitates treatment, and leads to student success.
Our Mission Statement
-We believe that, first and foremost, we are a “corporation for kids” and that everything we do needs to focus upon promoting optimal life success for every child entrusted to our care.

-We believe that Lighthouse School comprises a “safety net” that will catch and protect children having very heterogeneous and diverse challenges in their lives and provide them with a nurturing environment in which to thrive.

-We believe that all decisions must be based on the important criterion of “What’s in the best long-term interest of kids?” because this is the only criterion that both guides the integrity of decisions and also assures that long-term perspective will never be compromised because of short-term considerations.

-We believe that parents are our “partners in treatment” and to the degree that a child’s home, school and community experiences are integrated, the child has the best opportunity possible to succeed in life.

-We believe that our valued customers, the many municipalities of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and the other New England states who work in collaboration with us on behalf of enrolled students, deserve to receive efficient and effective account management, high quality services at a fair price, and a partnership that reflects our respect and appreciation for the opportunity to serve them.

-We believe that “everything goes back to culture” and that the quality and integrity of Lighthouse School’s culture constitutes the critical foundation upon which every other organizational component and prerogative is based.

-We believe that quality of treatment is extremely important and that APEX Biodevelopmental Technology provides our students with the best possible opportunities to succeed in life.

-We believe that “functional adaptation,” referring to the capacity to do well in circumstances involving the real world, is the most reliable indicator of optimal life success and that emphasis always needs to be placed upon teaching our students skills and offering them access to experiences that have real life applications.
Our Family & Culture
At Lighthouse School, team members are our most valuable resource. They are professional and experienced and are first and foremost dedicated and committed to the students that we serve. They positively contribute to the development of children through APEX Bioeducation®, a student-focused treatment approach. We use a staff-focused technology to allow for growth based upon personal, professional, and organizational needs awareness. We work hard to help our staff realize their full potential, providing unparalleled support so that parents and children receive excellent services and support.

Our staff creates a culture that helps students and staff alike to flourish. We encourage staff to expand their knowledge base in many areas in order to advance in their career.
Lighthouse School's Commitment To You

Team Spirit: Strong relationships and teamwork are key to the way we function. We achieve a strong team spirit by supporting and inspiring each other to think and work more effectively.
We Have Been in Business For Over 50 Years
If effectiveness were measured by a business’s years of service, then Lighthouse School has successfully withstood the test of time. Since its inception in 1967, Lighthouse School has had industry-low staff turnover and a steady growth rate. Throughout the years, the school has maintained its commitment to its original founding principles by continually expanding the array of services it provides for its students. Early on, Lighthouse School established strategic goals that have been consistently met or exceeded. Committed partnerships have been established with an impressive number of school systems from throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Developing the Right Qualities through FUSION
FUSION, a unique staff-focused technology, allows for growth and balance, taking into consideration personal, professional, and organizational needs. FUSION combines management and humanistic principles to allow both the individual and the organization to benefit. The employee team represents the organizations most valuable resource.
