It owns or manages more than 26,000 units in 10 states. The company operates primarily in the Southeast US and has built more than 70 properties. Subsidiary Lane Management provides management services for the company and for third parties; other units include Lane Investment and Development, Lane Asset Management, and student housing and affordable housing departments. Chairman and CEO George Lane founded the company in 1988.
