We at PSL Services/STRIVE are committed to being part of the community and assisting people with emotional and intellectual disabilities to live with dignity and respect as active members of our community. At PSL Services/STRIVE we work with the individuals who have selected us to support them in the life they have chosen.

STRIVE, which stands for Socialization, Transition, Reflection, Innovation, Vocation and Education, is a non-profit organization based in South Portland that assists tweens, teens and young adults with intellectual disabilities. Beginning in 1999, STRIVE sought to provide recreational and social opportunities, with a focus on creating peer support. STRIVE held its first teen night December of that year, with just four members walking through the door. Today, the organization has grown to serve over 950 members through ten different social, educational, post-secondary and employment programs. The goal of each program is simple—to provide opportunity and independence.

As a nonprofit organization serving tweens, teens and young adults with developmental disabilities, our programs encompass a wide variety of social, educational, and community integration experiences. The range of services PSL Services/STRIVE offers means there are plenty of chances for volunteers to use their areas of expertise, learn new skills and have fun.

STRIVE Night
Every Friday from 6:00-9:00pm STRIVE opens its doors to teens and young adult members for a night of socialization, games, and fun! The PSL Services/STRIVE Center has a dance floor, air hockey, pool tables, TVs, computers with internet access, board games, snack bar and more!

We celebrated our wonderful TOPS students with a graduation ceremony! All of our TOPS students worked extremely hard this year and we are so proud of what they have learned and accomplished! We can't wait to see what the future holds for these outstanding students! Please join us in congratulating our graduates!
