B&R is an Austrian company founded as a Ges.m.b.H. (Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung) in 1979 by Erwin Bernecker and Josef Rainer. Bernecker + Rainer Industrie-Elektronik Ges.m.b.H., with development and production headquarters in Eggelsberg (Upper Austria), is currently one of the largest private companies in the field of automation and process control technology.
