Founded in 2005, locally-owned Care Haven Homes is the oldest and largest operator of small, residential memory care homes in Kansas City. We own and operate six homes -- 4 in Overland Park and 2 in Leawood -- all located with 4 miles of our Prairie Village office. Each Care Haven home operates as a "Home Plus," licensed by The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
Care Haven has real homes: attractive, ranch-style houses tucked into quiet residential neighborhoods. Their design creates comfortable, secure environments for people living with dementia. Each provides a warm, family-style setting for no more than 8 residents. The resident-to-caregiver ratio typically is 4 to 1.
Our local owner/operator and management team insist on giving residents what they need when they need it – with the kindness, dignity and respect they deserve.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM AN EXPERT?
We encourage gentle, comforting care that minimizes confusion, anxiety & agitation. This approach protects our residents' dignity & independence. It's better for our caregivers, too!
Each Care Haven home provides:
o Trained, licensed care staff, on duty round the clock
o Nutritious, home-cooked meals & snacks
o Bathing, dressing & grooming assistance
o Laundry & housekeeping services
o Health care overseen by our nursing staff
o 24-hour emergency response by one of our on-call nurses
o Health, diet, medication & continence management
o Coordination of home health & hospice services
o Meaningful, individualized daily activities
o Medical alert & fire alarm systems, emergency generators, secured yards & exit doors
We also offer a wide range of optional medical & personal services, which include:
o In-home geriatric care
o Pharmacy services
o Lab services
o Dental services
o Podiatry
o Transport services
o Adult continence supply program
