About Seneca Sawmill Company
From humble roots, producing just 18-million board feet of lumber in 1953, today, Seneca Sawmill includes three sawmills in Eugene, Oregon and one in Noti, Oregon, with production levels exceeding 650-million board feet.
Supporting these operations is Seneca Jones Timber Company which sustainably manages 167,000 acres of timberlands that produce raw material for our sawmills. Our newest facility, Seneca Sustainable Energy, utilizes byproducts from our forest and sawmill operations and produces 19.8 MW of renewable power which is utilized by our local community (enough for 13,000 homes on an annual basis), plus steam for our onsite dry kilns. Collectively, these companies form the Seneca Family of Companies which supports over 400 local family wage jobs.
The long standing success of the Seneca Family of Companies can be attributed to three very important components:
First, advanced technology operating hand-in-hand within a sustainable environment to meet our nation’s demand for lumber.
Second, professional management of our resources assures you, our customer, that we will continue to be a dependable supplier of quality lumber far into the future.
Third, a company which has the best people will always have a competitive edge. At Seneca each member of our family possesses a strong work ethic which is second to none in promoting innovation and quality.
Our dedication to professional management and commitment to quality is rewarded by the repeat business of our current customers and the opportunity to meet the needs of new customers. Mutual respect for one another and pride in a job well done are quality checks that allow us to provide the best final product for you and your customers.
Seneca Lumber is efficiently produced, precisely packaged and ready to ship on its way to you the day after it is manufactured.

AppreciationWithout our employees, all Seneca would be is a bunch of nuts and bolts. They are the backbone of our success. We like to show our appreciation when we reach milestones or achieve our goals in several ways, one of those being appreciation BBQ’s.
Heavy Equipment OperationsWe have logs coming in, and lumber going out. Heavy equipment operators are responsible for loading/unloading, transporting, and storing the log with great finesse.
Green EnergySeneca Sustainable Energy is our cogeneration renewable energy facility which produces both steam and electricity from biomass. This facility operates 24/7 to generate 19.8 MW and is the cleanest and lowest emission renewable power plant currently running in the United States. Seneca lives and breathes in Lane County and we made a serious commitment to air quality in designing this facility.
We Have Multiple LocationsOur headquarters is in Eugene, but we also have a mill in Noti and a forestry office in Roseburg. Pictured above are employees enjoying an appreciation lunch at the Noti facility.
TimberlandsWe have 170,000 acres that we manage sustainably. We have 92% more timber on those acres than we had 25 years ago. We manage our land not only for healthy trees, but also thriving wildlife, cool clean water, healthy soil and world class recreation.
ApprenticeshipsWe offer skilled trade apprenticeships for employees to work while we help them become certified as Saw Filers, Millwrights, and Electricians.
ShippingWith the capacity to produce 650 MBF of lumber a year, we have a lot of units moving around through the manufacturing and shipping process. We have more than 30 forklift positions.
LongevityThe average time most people stay in a job is 4 years. At Seneca, our average employee has been here 9.31 years. We celebrate longevity awards for 5-year increments, and we have proudly celebrated several 40-year longevities. The employees often say it is the people they enjoy most about working at Seneca. While it is never easy for any of us to see our long-time employees go, we throw a celebration to say farewell.
