Background: The company was founded in 1963 by Joe Nicolosi, PT. Francis Guglielmo joined the company as a Physical Therapist in 1967 and became a partner in the company a year later.

In 2001, a joint venture was formed with Our Lady of the Lady Regional Medical Center (for outpatient rehabilitation services) and the company name was changed to BRPT-Lake Rehabilitation Centers.
