NFM in the Community Nebraska Furniture Mart believes in giving back to the communities in which we live and operate. That is why we volunteer time and resources to support local and national non-profit organizations. Our community partners are also committed to working in areas that improve people’s lifestyles by focusing on community outreach, health and wellness and education.
NFM Health and Wellness At NFM we promote physical fitness and mental health through our various programs and services at NFM. Some of those services include annual health screenings, health and safety fairs, educational articles, awareness days, weight watchers, yoga on site, fresh vegetable boxes, 5K races, and much more!
NFM Education At NFM we work with local high schools to assist them in becoming "job ready" and getting them prepared for entering the workforce. We host mock interviews and conduct tours of our campuses. We not only work with high schools and colleges but we also offer leadership development opportunities and mentorship to our current staff. Anyone looking to complete college courses or go back to school, we offer education assistance through certain school partnerships. Additionally, we teach English in the workplace to those multilingual staff who are wanting to become more proficient.
NFM Conserves At Nebraska Furniture Mart, we know that we have a responsibility to care for the environment. We are committed to doing our part to reduce, reuse and recycle and we will continue to work hard to conserve our planet’s resources. Since 2007, we have recycled over 55,000 tons of materials.
NFM Gives Nebraska Furniture Mart has a long history of giving back to our communities. In addition to in-kind and financial gifts, we also encourage our staff to participate in our charitable giving program. By investing in our local communities, we are working to improve the lifestyles of families and individuals in our communities.

NFM Recognition Everyone deserves recognition for a job well done and it's not just the managers job to do that. We encourage daily recognition and it can be done in a variety of ways. You can give someone a "Way to Be' card in-person or electronically, you can nominate the person to win one of NFM's various awards throughout the year, you can give someone a "BeOne" buck to use at our company store. We want to recognize you as a valuable asset and important member of our family.
NFM Safety We live and breath safety at NFM! Safety is not only important for our NFM family members but also for our customers. We do a multitude of things and activities to keep NFM safe. We reward our staff for reaching a safe number of working hours by goal setting. We instituted a "Close Call" program where people can submit potential unsafe risks and be selected to win a prize (after the risk is mitigated of course). We have ergonomic assessments done for anyone who requests their desk equipment to be checked out. We do monthly safety challenges, toolbox talks and educational sessions. We are always practicing safety and promoting the important role it plays in us being able to work and be with our friends and families.
