About Positive Alternatives, Inc
Positive Alternatives, Inc., is a private non-profit, community-based, multi-service organization serving youth and families in Wisconsin.

Mission Statement: Through a continuum of family and strength-based services, Positive Alternatives strives to equip at-risk youth and young adults with the social, emotional and developmental skills needed to flourish.

Our History
Positive Alternatives, Inc. has been in existence since 1974. Our goal is to continually look for innovative and creative programs to benefit youth, the community, and the counties that we service. These services are driven by our current mission statement: “Through a continuum of family and strength based services Positive Alternatives strives to equip at risk youth and young adults with the social, emotional and developmental skills needed to flourish.”

Our group homes provide room and board, supervision, structure, counseling and recreational opportunities for the residents. The group homes accept referrals from all Wisconsin counties.

In addition to the group homes, Positive Alternatives has offered many other programs to youth and families throughout the years. These programs have all been aimed at either prevention or early intervention for at-risk youth and families. Examples of programs offered have been TeenCare Runaway Program, School Mentoring, Youth Connections, Sandcastles, Positive Alternatives Support Services (PASS)/Short Term Adolescent Tracking and Support (STATAS), and Teenage Parent Program (TAPP).
A Rewarding Career Choice
When one of our staff make a difference in the life of one of our youth clients, we know that we are contributing to the betterment of our communities.

Working with these teens is amazing and rewarding. We strive to remain competitive in the direct-care field and offer the best staff for our clients.

In 2017 we implemented a new and improved wage scale. The starting hourly rate for part-time direct-care staff is now $14 per hour. Our full-time staff have higher starting rates and are offered a benefit package.

Most of our staff are part-time working nights and weekends. This flexible schedule fits well with their busy lives.

Join our team and you too can offer Positive Alternatives to the youth in your community!
