About Speyside Bourbon Cooperage Inc.
Speyside Bourbon Cooperage, Inc. is an offspring of Speyside Cooperage Ltd. which was founded in Scotland in 1947. Speyside currently operates two Cooperages in Scotland and two in the U.S; in Kentucky and Ohio. The Kentucky facility repairs and redistributes used barrels. In April of 2015 we announced the opening of our Bourbon Cooperage in Jackson, Ohio (a former Merillat facility). The Jackson, Ohio Cooperage is the first Speyside facility to focus solely on the production of new, charred, white oak barrels for the bourbon industry. That facility has already exceeded projections and operating at maximum capacity with two shifts and an increasing demand for staves.

In the spring of this year, we opened our first US Stave Mill located in Bath County Virginia. We have recently purchased two existing stave mills in Waverly, Ohio. Our newest expansion is in South West Virginia. We will be opening both a Stave Mill (Highland Industrial Park, Glade Springs, Virginia in Washington County) and a new bourbon Cooperage (Atkins, VA in the former Merillat facility, Smyth County)

The company is a part of a larger cooperage organization which is based in France, the Tonnellerie Francois Freres Group (TFF), a global cooperage company based in Saint Romain, France. We have Cooperages and stave mills located around the world and are specialists in every aspect of the industry.

TFF Group, formerly Tonnellerie Francois Freres SA, manufactures and distributes oak barrels. The company was founded by Joseph François in 1910. The Company has four core businesses: stave milling, cooperage, cask manufacturing and oak wine-aging products .The Company has 25 global facilities which include Cooperages and stave mills in France, the United States, Spain, Hungary, South Africa, China, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland.

All our skill goes into making top quality barrels to meet the requirements and expectations of spirit-makers all over the world. Our goal at Speyside Bourbon Cooperage is to ensure that barrels become a modern spirit-making instrument by combining age-old craftsmanship and state of the art techniques and equipment developed by our research and development department. Coopering is a craft and will always be so; however, by incorporating new ideas with existing methods we are now able to build a barrel that is stronger, consistent in size and quality with little variability.

As the demand for bourbon production and barrels continues to increase, the industry as a whole has not been able to supply the demand. We are anticipating growing in the next 2 to 3 years to meet that demand.
