Speechcenter, Inc. is one of the most tenured and largest private Speech Pathology practices in North Carolina, being founded in 1982, by our owner and CEO Joy English, M.A., CCC-SLP. Joy founded the company in Boone, North Carolina as an independent clinician, and we have grown significantly over the years. Speechcenter has a powerful presence serving Central and Western North Carolina while keeping our clinical team tight-knit and cohesive. We serve the birth through geriatric populations, and we provide therapy in their natural environment. Speechcenter’s staff comes from many states across the country since we are highly regarded in our field and provide OUTSTANDING benefits to our clinicians. Our Story Speechcenter’s story began in 1982 as our President and CEO, Joy English, MA, CCC, sought to share the gift of communication with her community in the mountains of North Carolina. She founded the practice to make a positive difference in the lives of people with communication and swallowing disorders. For decades, Speechcenter has earned and maintained a reputation for quality services and for the passion and skill of our clinical team. Most importantly, we value the lives changed and improved by our services.
Our Mission To provide speech-language pathology services of the highest possible quality, delivered in a humanistic and ethical manner, at the lowest possible cost to any individual or agency, with special consideration to the economically disadvantaged and medically underserved.
Our SuccessSpeechcenter, Inc. employs master’s level Speech-Language Pathologists that are progressive in their profession and personally invested in improving the quality of their patients’ lives. As a result, we serve all age groups, all disorders related to speech, language or swallowing, and provide such services in all settings including: homes, daycares, schools, adult treatment facilities, etc. Our success is driven by seeing our patients receive the gift of communication and using it to transform their lives.
