About The Country Club of St. Albans
Welcome to the Country Club of St. Albans!

In Lewis and Clark’s time, the open meadows and steeply-pitched foothills that now play host to golfers in search of the perfect tee shot were silent, and our championship courses were still just a dream. Wild deer had sole claim to these valleys, and only the most adventurous traveler roamed the paths that wound through this pristine area.

Today, we delight in the exquisite landscape and the company of good friends as we enjoy the beauty of St. Albans. With a careful hand and meticulous attention to the natural beauty of the land, a premier gathering place is nestled in the rich historical path of Lewis and Clark.

With its majestic views, the Country Club of St. Albans is regarded as one of the finest country clubs in the St. Louis-Midwestern market. With two 18-hole championship golf courses, a double-sided driving range, practice facilities, junior Olympic size swimming pool, tennis facilities and a clubhouse offering multiple dining areas, the Country Club of St. Albans offers its members excellence in service and amenities.

The Board of Directors invites you to enjoy the elegance, the harmony, and the splendor of the Country Club of St. Albans.

There's nowhere else you'd rather play... relax... belong...

Club History
Much of the character of The Country Club of St. Albans stems from its magnificent surroundings. The natural beauty of rolling hills, wooded terrain, valleys, lakes and natural wildlife completed the design with a true reverence for the rich history of the area.

In 1988, 5,400 acres were purchased surrounding the village of St. Albans. The dream was to develop homes and a country club in 8 to 10 years. The St. Albans property bears many symbols of the past, from Civil War era graves that dot the property to the striking stone homes designed by Theodore Link, famed architect of St. Louis Union Station. Designers meticulously preserved these historic remnants and created the unique tapestry of St. Albans.

In 1991, the award winning architectural firm of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish were selected to design and build the Lewis and Clark course. The course and the prestigious St. Albans clubhouse opened in November of 1992. Our second course, Tavern Creek was designed by the golf architectural team of Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry and opened in June of 1997.

Our award-winning course designers embraced the natural surroundings preserving natural habitats for hundreds of wildlife and plant species that call St. Albans home. A visit to the Country Club of St. Albans is a retreat to an unspoiled reserve safeguarded for generations to come.
Lewis & Clark Course
Created first in honor of the legendary explorers, the 18-hole, par 72 Lewis and Clark Course was crafted by the highly acclaimed design team of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. A traditional links course, the Lewis and Clark Course has played host to an impressive array of tournaments since its opening in 1992, including the Metro Amateur Golf Championships, the Missouri Women's Amateur Golf Championship, the Missouri State Amateur Golf Championships, the prestigious Missouri Cup Matches, the St. Louis Men’s District Championship, the USGA Men's State Team Championship, the USGA US Open Sectional Qualifier, and the 2017 Girls and Boys Junior PGA Championships. This course was ranked #6 by Golf Digest for best courses in Missouri!
Tavern Creek Course
Opened in 1997, the par 71 Tavern Creek Course spans 160 exquisite acres and was designed by famed course architects Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry. Picturesque, rock-lined creeks present dramatic holes around every bend, and twelve of the eighteen holes involve uniquely challenging play around creeks, streams or ponds. To remind golfers of the rich historical significance surrounding the grounds they play on, five fully preserved Civil War-era graves are nestled throughout the course. This course was ranked #8 by Golf Digest for best courses in Missouri!
Dining at the Club
The Golfer's Lounge & Wine Bar

The Golfer's Lounge offers a social venue that encourages togetherness, camaraderie, and club fellowship. This is the perfect location for meeting your partners before golf, kicking back and reading the news on your iPad, or casually gathering with friends for cocktails before or after dinner. It is "the meeting place" for the club.

The veranda located just off of the lounge offers open-air vistas of the Lewis & Clark course. The overhead fans keep the air cooled on the warmer midwest summer days while a cozy fireplace provides ambiance and warmth on the cooler autumn and winter days. A lighter fare menu is offered with an extensive cocktail and wine list.
Poolside
The Country Club of St. Albans junior olympic-sized pool is located adjacent to the clubhouse and offers aquatic fun Memorial Day - Labor Day. The Snack Shack offers a luncheon menu for adults and children alike, while the Tiki Bar offers you adult beverages throughout the season while you watch the game on the Tv's overhead.

The pool staff is a highly qualified group of professionals providing members, their families and guests a quality experience. Each staff member is hand-selected for their life guarding capabilities, supervisory skills, and their appreciation for member service. Most importantly, it is their job to provide a tremendous summer experience and to hold the safety of all members and their guests at the top of their priorities.

Being at the pool is an enjoyable day even if you don't want to get in the water. The full service kitchen, referred to as the "Snack Shack" offers kid's favorites as well as club classics and healthy options. For adult beverages, the Tiki Bar offers all the classics as well as specialty drinks throughout the season. So whether splashing in the water or dining poolside, you are guaranteed a relaxing day of fun and sun.
Tennis
The Country Club of St. Albans is fortunate to have four professional outside tennis courts with recently added pickleball lines available for our members. No matter the skill level, the Club's tennis pro, Cliff Reuter, makes certain all programs are full of enthusiasm, competent instruction, and most importantly... fun! Lessons and clinics are offered for all ages and genders and are publicized at the beginning of each season.
