About KIRPC Head Start
Candidates are interviewed by the Director and Supervisor of the position. After interviews, reference checks are completed on all candidates. All candidates are given an interview rating score. The Director receives board approvals prior to hiring any employee. Employees are paid on a set wage scale broken down by position, education, and experience. Over the past 5 years, the program has been diligent in working to increase pay scales. The new minimum wage for the program is now $11.00. Onboarding training during the first 90 days to 1 year is the newest training process so staff are properly trained and not overwhelmed with all required training within the first week of hire.
