Our center-based programs use Teaching Strategies GOLD, which is an assessment, reporting, and curriculum planning system. This helps us to plan meaningful activities that match your child’s strengths, needs, and interests, to track his or her progress on these over time and to build a strong foundation for your child to be ready to succeed in school. The Guild is very proud to have taken a leadership role in educating our teachers. All Preschool classrooms have a teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Early Education or a related field. Many of our teacher assistants have associate degrees or are currently enrolled in college.
In addition to our child care programs providing children with developmentally appropriate learning environments, the Guild also offers working parents the following supplemental services for your children: nutritious meals, and behavioral health services and referrals. The Guild also offers transportation for parents/guardians who qualify. In doing so, we serve the whole child in order to aid you in your role as you raise your child.

Quality infant-toddler care is exceptionally important since the first three years of life is a highly significant period in the development of a child’s brain. During this time the framework of a child’s brain is formed through the interactions the child makes with the people and things in his or her environments. If the interactions are comparatively limited then this results in the brain formation becoming relatively simple while varied and frequent interactions contribute to creating a more complex brain structure. Loving, frequent and varying interactions with caring adults result in the structure of the child’s brain to grow strong and become complex. This then sets up the child well to become progressively socially, emotionally and cognitively involved with the people and things in his or her surroundings.
Guild of St. Agnes Child Care Centers offer developmentally appropriate curriculums. Educators are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and supervised by the Lead Educator, Director and/or Assistant Director at each center.

The Guild of St. Agnes offers school age programs in the Devens, Fitchburg, Gardner and Worcester communities. The Guild transports from several schools to the center. Open to children enrolled in kindergarten through grade 6, these programs are designed to meet the full range of each child’s developmental, social and emotional needs. Homework assistance, enrichment and recreational activities along with health and life skills training make up our daily activities. We know that children who are safe and feel nurtured become responsible and resilient adults, which are our goals and the foundation of our program.
During the school year in Worcester, the Guild operates after school programs in six of the public schools, namely: Quinsigamond, Tatnuck Magnet, Union Hill, Woodland Academy, Worcester Arts Magnet and Rice Square School as well as at our Child Care Centers located at 129 Granite Street, 353 Grove Street, 54 Croydon Street, and 336 Hamilton Street. Additionally, we transport children from several of the other Worcester public schools to one of these sites for after school services. We are pleased with this partnership as it is beneficial to all involved – the children, their families, the teachers, and the community.

In addition to our center based care, the Guild of St. Agnes offers family child care. This option allows parents/guardians to place their children in small intimate settings in the homes of Family Child Care Educators. The MA Department of Early Education and Care licenses the Family Child Care homes and the Guild of St. Agnes subcontracts with these Educators to provide quality, affordable, early childhood education programs in safe, nurturing environments for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Each educator is current in CPR and First Aid, participates in the USDA sponsored Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP), and annually attends 20 hours of training offered by the staff of the Guild of St. Agnes and other professionals from the greater Worcester area.
