Monroe County Hospital & Clinics (MCHC) is a trusted provider of high-quality, local healthcare to the residents of Monroe County, IA and surrounding counties. Our full-service, primary care hospital offers an array of inpatient and outpatient health services.

MCHC is a twenty-five bed Critical Access Hospital with an attached Rural Health Clinic (RHC). MCHC employs over 180 employees. The hospital is a county hospital organized and operated under Iowa Code Chapter 347. The hospital is governed by a publicly elected, seven-member Board of Trustees. Recently, the hospital was designated as one of the Top 150 Workplaces in the State of Iowa. MCHC is small but operates in a mighty way! There are also many valuable patient opportunities within the departments such as: medical/surgical unit, hospice, sleep studies, rehabilitation services, infusion therapy, surgical services, imaging (radiology) services, outpatient specialty clinic, emergency department and a rural health clinic.
