About Southampton Camp and Club
Southampton Camp & Club is a premier children's summer day camp and member's Racquet (Tennis) club, located in the East End of Long Island, in Southampton, NY.
As part of the Timber Lake Family of Camps (Timber Lake Camp, Tyler Hill Camp, Timber Lake West Camp, North Shore Day Camp & School and Hampton Country Day Camp), our mission is to teach our campers (boys and girls ages 2-11) the skills of making and keeping friends, while building their self-confidence, self-esteem, and resilience all while having fun in a safe environment... that's what camp is all about!
Nestled in the heart of Hamptons on a magnificent 17-acre property more befitting of an upstate NY sleepaway camp, Southampton Camp & Club (SCC) provides The Perfect Summer Program For Every Camper, and brings a true day camp program to both staff and campers alike.

As a General Counselor/Intern, you will be placed with 2/3 other counselors and 12-15 campers (Camper:Staff ratio dependent on their age) in a group. You will spend each day participating in all camp activities –- from meals to sports to swimming to all-camp fun events and even just hanging out during the snack time. In order to be an effective General Counselor, you’ll need the following qualities: patience, compassion, fairness, great listening and communication skills and the ability to relate to kids. You need to be a TEAM PLAYER and enjoy having fun.
Activity/Specialty CounselorsAs a specialty activity counselor, you will run, either on your own or as part of a team, an activity that you have a particular skill, experience or qualification in. Once the daily activities begin each morning, specialists report to their area of specialty. Applicants must demonstrate a strong aptitude in their specialty area and relevant experience teaching/coaching children is helpful.

Southampton Camp & Club maintains an aquatics staff of around 12-18 American Red Cross & Swim Instructors to work at our 3 outdoor heated pools. These spectacular pools with various depths for age-appropriate swimming, with our fantastic learn-to-swim program and exceptional staff, allow us to provide campers an unparalleled aquatics experience during the summer. Nobody does it better in The Hamptons!
Lifeguards: Their responsibility, first and foremost, is SAFETY! Camper’s swim twice a day, with one focusing on Free Swim, and the 2nd focusing on our American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim program. Guards split time between safety supervision & pool monitoring while Insuctors and swim assists work hands on with campers in the water. *SCC can American Red Cross certify all staff that require Lifeguarding and/or CPR/First Aid/AED training during orientation at no cost to the staff member.
Swim Instructors: Their responsibility, first and foremost, is to utilize their hands-on instructional experience and skills to create dynamic, fun and safe learn to swim sessions for campers aged between 2-11 following our American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim program.

Southampton Camp & Club has a dedicated, experienced and FUN leadership team! Ranging from Elementary, Middle and High School Teachers, to Speech Therapists/Pathologists, to School Guidance Counselors to Nursery School Directors and to parents, we have the most dedicated and experienced leadership staff in the business. Our Leadership Team acts as an essential liaison between parents and campers, keeping parents proactively up-to-date on their camper's happenings, as well as providing supervision, guidance and coaching staff throughout the summer.
Good communication and time management skills are essential, as interacting with parents, campers, and staff in a range of situations.
