About Bedford Care Centers
In the 1970’s, the owners of Bedford Care Centers began their careers in long-term care with the purchase of one nursing home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Since then, the number of Bedford Care Centers has grown to eight, serving seniors in central and south Mississippi with caring and compassion.
There have been other changes over the years too. In addition to more facilities, we now operate sister companies providing services such as retail and institutional pharmacy, staffing relief, and private-duty care to seniors. Some things however, have not changed. We are still Mississippi-based, family-owned companies built on strong values – Respect, Honesty, Dependability, Caring and Compassion.
We are continuously in the process of furthering our commitment of care and service to our residents, their families, our staff, and the community at large. All Bedford facilities are rated by the Federal CMS as 4 or 5 star facilities for excellence in Quality Care.

Bedford Care Centers are members of the American Health Care Association and its state affiliate, the Mississippi Health Care Association. Our centers participate in the AHCA quality initiative Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes Campaign.
“The Mission of the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes Campaign is to help nursing homes achieve excellence in the quality of care and quality of life for the more than 1.5 million residents of America’s nursing homes by:
* Establishing and supporting an infrastructure of Local Area Networks for Excellence (LANEs),
* Strengthening the workforce, and
* Improving clinical and organizational outcomes.
The 'Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes Campaign' is a major initiative of the Advancing Excellence in Long Term Care Collaborative. The Collaborative assists all stakeholders of long term care supports and services to achieve the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for all individuals receiving long term care services.” (source: AHCA website)
