Keen to enjoy the lovely September sunshine the team at Deepdene decided to hold a balloon race in the garden. There was a lot of laughter as those living in the home cheered the competitors on. As always, the resident chef and their team produced a fantastic buffet, enjoyed by all.

How we recruit
Although our recruitment process varies slightly between the different roles we recruit for, we consider every application with the upmost care.

To begin your exciting venture with Maria Mallaband Care Group, head over to our careers page to find a role that suits you best. Then, create an account with us to get the application process started. These initial steps will only take you a few minutes, and if you have your CV ready and waiting on your device, this can easily be uploaded to populate your details more swiftly.

Most of our roles will include a brief screening call with you so if your application catches the eye of our Talent Acquisition team, this will be an opportunity to discuss the role, and to see if you are a suitable candidate. Following this, we will proceed to book an interview at the home at your earliest convenience (procedures are in place for online interviews due to COVID if required).

During interviews at our homes, we ask a variety of scenario-based questions, as well as gauging your understanding of the company. Before the interview, it would be wise to take a look at Maria Mallaband's website and learn a bit about the business. After all, you want to make sure that we are a good fit for you too! Ultimately, we are looking for candidates who are naturally kind, caring individuals who want to make a difference. Soft skills such as good communication, leadership and adaptability are essential in our homes, so we are on the look out for evidence of these in particular.

Interviews for Head Office or senior manager positions are usually completed at Head Office and include more competency-based questions, alongside the scenario-based questions.

If you are successful at interview and are offered a role here at Maria Mallaband, we will then ask you to log back into your careers account to complete all relevant information required for you to start with us. All data is required to go through this process rather than via email to ensure we meet GDPR regulations.

At this stage, you will be contacted by one of our Talent Acquisition Coordinators who will help you complete required information and take care of your DBS application. Once you have completed your application, you can track your progress via your account and use this to apply for other roles with us or even withdraw applications.
