Walter & Helen Friesen founded Hearthstone in the mid-90s after not being able to find a place for his own mom. Twenty years later and an Alzheimer's diagnosis later, Walter & Helen moved into Hearthstone at Murrayhill themselves and got to experience the community the created first-hand.

Walter lived a life of service always looking for a new way to help. With the Friesen family at the helm, his legacy lives on.
