About Sunfield Childrens Home
Welcome to Sunfield
Sunfield is an independent residential special school and charity in the West Midlands. We have over 80 years of experience in supporting boys and girls, aged 6 – 19 years, with complex learning needs, including Autism and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome).

Working Together
Sunfield offers flexible 38 to 52 week residential placements and day places. Our highly specialised provision
uses innovative and responsive approaches to support young people with complex learning needs such as Autism and PDA. Our teams in care, education, psychology, therapies, and family services work together, with young people, their families, and other supporting professionals.

Transforming Lives
With Sunfield’s personalised support, children’s communication and life skills develop, so they can more fully engage in their learning and living, and develop positive relationships with the community around them. By getting to know each child, and tailoring our services to their needs, we make a meaningful difference – often when children have been unable to thrive elsewhere.

“Young people are able to make progress while being at the home. This is due to well trained and experienced staff having an exceptional high awareness of the differing needs of the young people and how to respond to these. One social worker stated that ‘the progress he has made is remarkable’.” Ofsted 2014
