About Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
Nationally recognized for innovative programs, academic achievement, cutting-edge research and exceptional patient care, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center aims to promote a greater health environment for West Texas and beyond. While our flagship campus resides proudly in Lubbock, Texas, TTUHSC operates six schools with campuses in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas/Fort Worth, Lubbock and the Permian Basin (Midland & Odessa).

Like Texas itself, we are an independent and proud institution that is part of a larger union, the Texas Tech University System. As a university separate from Texas Tech University, we have been entrusted with a singular charge: to teach the next generation of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, researchers and health care professionals while simultaneously providing the people of West Texas with world-class patient care. We are both an institution of higher learning and a place where real people come for life-saving medical care.

We are proud to offer many exceptional employee benefits, including a generous compensation package with comprehensive benefits, medical and dental insurance, paid time off and substantial automatic retirement contributions. Additionally, we invest in employee success by providing many resources designed to support your personal and professional growth, including continuing education and lifelong learning programs, tuition scholarships for employees and their dependents, leadership and professional development programs and mental and physical wellness programs.

TTUHSC is consistently recognized as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the 'Great Colleges to Work For' program. In 2022, TTUHSC attained elite Honor Roll status as a Great College to Work For, and was recognized across eight categories:
• Job satisfaction & Support
• Compensation & Benefits
• Professional Development
• Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
• Faculty and Staff Well-Being
• Shared Governance
• Faculty Experience
• Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

TTUHSC named a ‘2022 Great College to Work For®'
It’s official! Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is one of the best colleges in the U.S. to work for, according to a recent survey by The Great Colleges to Work For program. In 2022, TTUHSC won honors in eight categories:
• Job satisfaction & Support
• Compensation & Benefits
• Professional Development
• Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
• Faculty and Staff Well-Being
• Shared Governance
• Faculty Experience
• Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

The results were released in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education on Sept. 16. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was employee feedback.

“I'm honored that our great university achieved these top rankings,” said TTUHSC President Lori Rice-Spearman, Ph.D. “They represent how we are working to make TTUHSC an employer of choice in each of our campus communities."

"That's important to our success because our employees are among the greatest ambassadors for our university," Rice-Spearman continued. "Our positive work environment is a direct reflection of the value we place on a team-based approach to our work. I truly believe these accomplishments demonstrate we live our values and subscribe to a united vision to transform health care through innovation and collaboration."
