University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) has two acute care hospital facilities located in Harford County, MD.

The newest facility is UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center(UM UCMC) and Campus which opened its doors in 2000. Located in the heart of Bel Air in Harford County, Maryland, the state-of-the-art medical center provides the latest advances in medical technology in a healing and compassionate environment.

The UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center has 179 acute care beds, and adjacent to the medical center is the Ambulatory Care Center of Harford County, containing physician offices, outpatient imaging and laboratory procedures, outpatient pre-assessment testing and assessment, Upper Chesapeake Cardiovascular Institute, the UM Upper Chesapeake Surgical Pavilion, and the administrative offices of UM UCH. Also located next to the medical center, is a pre-existing medical office building with physician offices and other healthcare related services.

The second facility of UM Upper Chesapeake Health is Harford Memorial Hospital (HMH) proudly continues the tradition of caring for our community today as it did when it opened its doors on January 1, 1912. The hospital's first home was in a 21-room remodeled frame mansion.

In addition to medical/surgical acute care beds, the hospital has a state-of-the-art ICU/PCU and a busy Emergency Department that cares for over 35,000 patients each year. UM Harford Memorial offers very specialized, one of a kind, hospital-based services, including a 17-bed Transitional Care Unit, Joint Center for patients undergoing hip or knee joint replacement surgery, a Sleep Disorder Center for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, a Wound Care Center and inpatient and outpatient Behavioral Health Services.
