About Southwest Mississippi Mental Health Complex
The Southwest Mississippi Mental Health Complex has provided services since September 1974 to residents of its service area. The Southwest Mississippi Mental Health Commission, Region 11’s governing board, oversees its operations. Over the last several years, our name has been changed to reflect society’s progressive views as it relates to persons living with mental health conditions. In 2018, the Commission adopted the name “A Clear Path of Southwest Mississippi Behavioral Health” to assist in fighting the stigmatization of persons living with a mental health condition. A Clear Path will be the name used in the daily operations of the agency.
Today, Mississippi is divided into 14 mental health regions. A Clear Path is Region 11 consisting of 9 counties in southwest Mississippi: Adams, Amite, Claiborne, Franklin, Lawrence, Jefferson, Pike, Walthall and Wilkinson. The administrative regional office is located in McComb, and the main satellite office in Natchez. Since 1974, A Clear Path has grown considerably with 16 sites located throughout its service area.
A Clear Path—Region 11 is not a federal or state agency that receives a legislative appropriation to fund its services. We are a non-profit, public-service agency. For this reason, we depend on fees for services, grants, county support, reimbursement from third party providers (Medicaid, Medicare & insurance) and donations to support our services.
A reduced fee schedule is available to those who qualify. We accept many insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, checks & money orders, and credit/debit cards (at certain locations).
Currently, A Clear Path has 8 divisions including Administrative Services, Children & Youth Services, Community Support Services, Long Term Services, Medical Services, Mental Health Services, Substance Use Services, and Crisis Services (24hours/day). The staff includes nurse practitioners, therapists, community support specialists, substance abuse prevention specialists, recovery support counselors, nurses and other support staff.

A Clear Path of Southwest Mississippi Behavioral Health provides a comprehensive range of mental health services in 9 counties of southwest Mississippi. We are seeking individuals who have a desire to work with children, youth and/or adults in a rural community mental health setting. Full-time and contractual opportunities are available.
