About Us
Meet Our Caregivers
“Excellence can be obtained if you: Care more than others think is wise; Dream more than others think is practical; Expect more than others think is possible.”
We are familiar with the necessities of health care: medical treatments, nursing care, therapies and nutrition. What distinguishes Crandall Medical Center as a skilled nursing facility is our commitment to excellence in resident care.
Our staff of health care professionals takes pride every day in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. From providing personal hygiene care and serving meals to administering medications and reviewing diagnostic test results, each member of the Crandall staff is dedicated to meeting the special needs of each resident. Special needs or preferences are met with special consideration. It is dedication to “person-centered care” that creates a comfortable, home-like environment.
Believing that excellence is the unlimited ability to improve the quality of what you have to offer, Crandall Medical Center has enjoyed a legacy of quality within the healthcare arena for the past 4 decades.
The staff of RNs, LPNs and State Tested Nursing Assistants are credentialed to provide appropriate services based on the resident’s identified level of care. Under the direct supervision of our Medical Director and nurse practitioners, the interdisciplinary team designs and implements goal-oriented, individualized plans of care to maximize patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner.
Care is always given in an environment of Christian love and compassion. You can be assured that we will care for your loved one with respect; we recognize each person’s unique needs with the utmost dignity and consideration.
Our Medical Staff
Crandall Medical Center offers a comprehensive package of medical services found in few other places. The convenience of the medical care we provide is one of our greatest assets.
There is no need for you to worry about how and when you’ll be able to arrange to see a doctor.
Our Medical Director, Dr. Thomas Vrable, D.O., Certified Medical Director, and his associates in Mercy Health are available for consultation 24/7. His staff includes:
Stephanie Eastek, Certified Nurse Practitioner
They are in the facility almost daily visiting residents in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms for medical examination.
Also visiting Crandall residents on a regular schedule is Dr. R. Mark Shivers, M.D. of Prima Health Care of Salem who is Certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
Residents of Crandall Medical Center have the convenience of dental care, psychological/counseling services, audiology, and optometry provided by 360 Care.
Also part of the Crandall Medical Center medical team are:
Podiatrists Dr. Thomas Groner and Dr. John Chiaro
Massage Therapist Marita Weidman, LMT
Ancillary medical services to care for feet, glasses, hearing aids, etc. can be provided either in the resident’s room or at the Copeland Health Clinic adjacent to Crandall Medical Center. Providing as many medical services as possible within easy walking distance of Crandall residents’ rooms eliminates the need for expensive, time consuming, exhausting transportation outside of the facility.
