About The Hermitage Hotel
The Hermitage Hotel is nestled at the base of Aoraki Mount Cook, midway between Queenstown and Chrischurch. Standing at 3724 metres, there is sparkling beauty as the rising sun reflects off New Zealand’s tallest mountain.

The Hermitage Hotel has long been synonymous with the Kiwi spirit of adventure. It's history is scattered with flood, fire, triumph and tragedy. Since first being built in over 130 years ago in 1884, The Hermitage has stood as a perfect escape destination for generations of Kiwi's and international travelers, spell-bound by the Mount Cook region.

The Hermitage today has premium hotel rooms through to cozy chalets, dining options ranging from fine dining to cafe meals. We have complimented the accommodation with world-class activities such as Glacier Explorers, Tasman Valley 4WD and Argo Tours, Big Sky Stargazing, Mount Cook Guided Day Walks, scenic flights and the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre.

and you have a unique, year-round alpine adventure perfect for the family holiday or your next romantic getaway.
