Lamey Wellehan's is Maine's leading full-service, independent family shoe retailer. Our first store opened in Lewiston, Maine in 1914 and has since grown to six retail branches, an outlet and an online store, We stock over 110 brands of footwear, insoles, socks, handbags and accessories including over 75,000 pairs of shoes in our inventory. Our staff of 70 associates (including board-certified pedorthists) are trained to help fit our guests to the best shoe for their needs. Lamey Wellehan has received many awards including recognition of our environmental efforts. The company is head-quartered in Auburn, Maine.

A family legacyJim Wellehan inherited the company from his father and uncle and was at the helm until 2017 when then, General Manager Don Stowell took the reins and became the President and CEO of Lamey Wellehan
Community InvolvementJim spearheaded the company's efforts to collect gently worn footwear for our less fortunate community members. Today our store associates sort, box and help coordinate the delivery of worn footwear to shelters, schools and other non-profit agencies.
