Powering Community Innovation
Operation SMILE
At Borea, we are proud to say that we have big-hearted employees, who are truly dedicated and full of initiatives. On July 19th, one of our employees, Bruce Ponych at the Sharp Hills Project, wanted to get involved with Operation Smile Canada by collecting plastic bottles and donations to change the lives of many children. Bruce’s vision was to offer 25 new smiles to 25 children needing cleft lip surgery by raising
money.

So far, thanks to his passion and leadership, the Sharp Hills team have collected 17,579 plastic bottles for a total of $1,757.90, $2,720 in personal
donations from our employees, $2,000 on behalf of Borea for a total of $6,447.90 or 27 smiles

Of course, this project could not have been possible without the dedication of many of our employees who generously contributed to this project,a big thank you to everyone.

Help in the community

Once again, we wanted to take the time to highlight another initiative by some of our employees on the Lanfine project. Some of our employees, as well as some residents of Oyen, helped two elderly ladies who live in a trailer in very bad condition.

Our employees reused some of the shipping waste to replace their roof, added stairs and re-skirted the trailer to ensure it was waterproof.

We are fortunate to have employees who are involved in the communities in which they work. In addition to reusing materials that are no longer needed on the site, the quality of life of two women has been significantly improved thanks to this gesture.
