Founded in 2012 and headquartered in NYC, we have a growing global team in 11 offices around the world.
Our story
Our health and wellness concept began with our Co-Founder and CEO, Cesar Carvalho, in 2011. While working as a consultant at McKinsey & Co, he found it difficult to find reasonably priced gyms when traveling for work.

One year later, as Cesar was juggling an MBA at Harvard Business School and continuing work at McKinsey, he found himself still thinking about fitness options that were flexible, fun, and affordable. He left HBS and took the first steps toward what became Gympass. In 2012, Cesar, along with friends Vinicius Ferriani and Joao Barbosa, founded Gympass

The way we work
Flexible work: choose when and where you work!

Gympassers have two model options: flexible hybrid or full remote. For most, this will be a hybrid office/remote structure but can vary depending on the needs of the role and employee preferences.

We are confident that this flexible model will make Gympass an even better place to work. Our teams are dedicated to ensuring you have all the resources you need to do your best work, wherever you are.

Our offices are set up to encourage community. With an open floor plan, employees are able to walk around, ask questions, meet colleagues, and brainstorm together. We celebrate birthdays, holidays, and big wins as a team.

In these past years, we’ve also created many opportunities for employees to come together virtually. Some of these initiatives include a biweekly global Town Hall, digital team workouts, virtual coffee breaks and How-To series allowing employees to showcase their out of office talents like DJing, baking, collaging, and more.
Tech Principles and Teams
In Brazil, Portugal and the US we have a growing Tech team of 250 Gympassers across:

Our Product Development team is responsible for defining the product vision and strategy according to business goals, prioritizing the product roadmap for users, clients, and partners, and managing the end-user lifecycle, including global growth and retention.

Additionally, we build and maintain the technological backbone infrastructure, manage enterprise-wide governance, encourage the utilization of information (data) as an asset, and provide internal IT Infrastructure and HelpDesk services.

We are divided into tribes and squads with a strong agile mindset:

1. Consumer Digital Experience (CODE): represents the voice of our end-users. Through our website and apps, they guide the users throughout the entire journey (signing up, checking-in, choosing plans, searching for partners, etc.)

2. Partners: accountable for our wellbeing providers. They focus on providing them with products and services, in turn bringing more customers and corporate clients.

3. Client Innovation Area (CIA): responsible for the product we deliver to corporate clients offering Gympass to their employees. They're building a platform where all organizations can implement and manage wellbeing strategies.

4. Digital Operations, Technologies and Services (DOTS): develops scalable, user-friendly, data-driven, and reliable products improving internal employee productivity. They also enable efficiency and measurable work for all departments.

5. New Ventures: innovation lab responsible for projects such as Digital Partners, Trainiac, and Wellz.
Marketing Engineering & Platform (MEP): enables and maximizes marketing efforts through technology, product integrations, and engineering.

6. Gympass Platform Services (GPS): provides a platform of solutions that enables other areas to deliver awesome journeys to users, clients, partners, Gympassers. It ensures that our business model is properly defined and implemented.

7. Infrastructure & Data: cross functionally supports all product development areas in order to keep all products & services up and running, providing first-class engineering, data platforms, and tools.
Information Security (InfoSec): keeps our company safe. It protects the ecosystem against internal and external threats by creating safe products and raising security and privacy awareness.

As a global organization, we have set up regional groups that coordinate with their global counterparts. This allows Gympassers to gather with local peers and host meetings in their native language, but also share experiences with international colleagues who share their identification.

What we offer
Wellness Resources: In addition to local healthcare programs, we offer each Gympasser and their families access to our platform. Our app includes: personal training, in-person fitness partners, sleep and meditation guidance, mental health support, nutrition resources and more! You will receive the Gold plan at no cost, and other premium plans will be significantly discounted.

Earned Rewards: We offer competitive compensation packages in all markets in which we operate. For most roles this includes cash incentives tied to company and individual success, as well as the opportunity for top performers to participate in our equity program. 

Refer a friend: Team members that help us find the best A-Players receive a generous bonus.

Flexible work: Choose when and where you work. For most, this will be a hybrid office/remote structure but can vary depending on the needs of the role and employee preferences. We offer all employees a home office stipend and a monthly flexible work allowance to help cover the costs of working from home.

Flexible schedule: We give our employees some flexibility to adjust their working hours, letting them adjust their starting time within a range of 3 hours.

Paid time off: Let's start with a minimum of 25 days of paid leave per year so you can take time to focus on yourself. We also have generous parental and adoption leave, competitive annual holidays (including an extra holiday on your birthday and for your work anniversary!) and unlimited sick/wellness time off.
