University of Florida Health Shands is a private, not-for-profit hospital system affiliated with the University of Florida. It is part of University of Florida Health, the Southeast's most comprehensive academic health center, with campuses in Gainesville and Jacksonville.
University of Florida Health Shands is based in Gainesville. It features a teaching hospital, University of Florida Health Shands Hospital, which also includes University of Florida Health Shands Cancer Hospital and University of Florida Health Shands Children's Hospital; four specialty hospitals -- University of Florida Health Shands Rehab Hospital, University of Florida Health Shands Psychiatric Hospital, University of Florida Health Heart & Vascular Hospital and University of Florida Health Neuromedicine Hospital; a network of outpatient rehabilitation centers; and a home health agency. University of Florida Health Shands is affiliated with more than 50 University of Florida Health Physicians primary care and specialty medical practices located throughout North Central Florida.
