Restaurant Associates provides our Team Members with the tools and resources necessary to succeed in our organization. Our training enhances the knowledge of new hires so they are positioned to excel.
All New Manager hires start by meeting the CEO or one of our Divisional Presidents for lunch on their first day in our New York City Corporate office.
New Leader’s Orientation consists of:
Week 1: Company Overview, Leadership, Team Introductions, Company Policies & Safety
RA University – Day 2: You will meet key Senior Subject matter experts who will train you and gives oversight to all that makes RA an employer of choice and a brand our client choose.
The Centers for Excellence (CFE) is our foundation for exceptional training. You will then train at one RA’s top accounts Centers for Excellence; on-the-job experiential training. Beginning Day 3, you will be scheduled to train with our managers in one of our leading accounts. While training at our CFE, you will learn about the Why’s and the How’s that make RA, the choice of our clients and our employees. Simply put, highly skilled staff that is focused on superior hospitality, food, and innovation.
Week 2:
Learn all about your home unit and meet the team you will be a part of- Your Manager will review Job Expectations and educational opportunities that help each employee make the most of his or her skills, goals and career.
Training is also a significant part of our career development commitment to our team members.
We believe the formula for excellent performance is a combination of training (learning skills, knowledge and behavior) and application in the workplace (on-the-job experiences). Moreover, our on-the-job training is coupled with development programs for every stage of our associates’ careers including, but not limited to:

MIT: Manager-In-Training program that includes frontline high potential associates and graduate students

Key to career growth is the ability to gain new skills and expand your knowledge. Our courses are designed to enhance manager’s performance in their current role and help them advance to their next role.
