To give you a little history of what we are all about - the first Primanti restaurant wasn't really a restaurant at all. It was a small wooden lunch stand in the Strip District neighborhood (at the time, a thriving network of wholesalers) of Pittsburgh, PA run by Joe Primanti and his nephew John during the Great Depression. In 1933, with help from Dick and Stanley Primanti, the brothers purchased the restaurant which we all know today as the "original" Primanti Bros. Restaurant. According to nephew John DePriter "one winter, a fella drove in with a load of potatoes. He brought a few of 'em over to the restaurant to see if they were frozen, We fried the potatoes on our grill and they looked pretty good. A few customers asked for them, so we put the potatoes on their sandwiches." The rest is history.

Every Primanti Bros. restaurant uses fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that are prepared right here in the kitchen. Meats are sliced fresh daily, Fries come in the door as sacks of potatoes; cole slaw as heads of cabbage. Our bread is baked locally, delivered daily, and cut by hand just before it becomes a sandwich. Our hand-tossed pizza's start with freshly-made dough, made from scratch tomato sauce with fresh basil, and only 100% whole milk mozzarella cheese. Mama Primanti would approve!
