At California Bank & Trust, employees enjoy:
• Benefits—all employees regularly scheduled to work 20 hours per week in a regular-status position receive benefits.
• Learning opportunities—employees have access to training and development programs, mentoring, job aids and support tools.
• A company committed to diversity.
• A company committed to the communities we serve.
• Community Commitment

For over 60 years, CB&T has helped generations of Californians grow and prosper by giving them access to professional bankers who offer a level of experience, flexibility and support not found at other banks. And because we live and work in the communities we serve, we have established deep roots in each of the neighborhoods, cities and towns where we do business. Throughout the state, individuals, small businesses and large corporations rely on us for our guidance, collaborative spirit and custom financial options to help them achieve their dreams, goals and objectives.

CB&T supports community organizations and events through donations and sponsorships while serving a diverse population of employees, clients and communities. Regional committees make decisions about donations or sponsorships. We contribute to organizations in the following categories:

• Affordable housing
• Arts and culture
• Community service or community development
• Economic development
• Education
• Health and human services

As an affiliate of Zions Bancorporation, we follow our shared corporate governance and responsibility principles to use our resources to build strong neighborhoods and vibrant communities through sustainability, service and good governance. Volunteerism

A part of what makes our company a great place to work and a great place to bank is that we give back and we make a difference. Our employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and serve on boards at local nonprofit organizations. In 2019, CB&T employees accumulated 4,272 total volunteer hours. Here are a few nonprofit organizations where employees volunteered:
Feeding San Diego – The CB&T team sorted and packed 16,500 pounds of produce during a one-day volunteer shift. We also donated $5,000 that helped provide 20,000 meals to San Diegans facing hunger.
Junior Achievement – CB&T employees frequently work with Junior Achievement to enhance the financial literacy of children. By visiting classrooms and participating in Junior Achievement BizTown, we’re striving to help children become savvy with their future finances.
Love Never Fails – CB&T sponsored a job fair with the nonprofit group for vulnerable community members, including women victimized by trafficking. At the event, prospective employers attended, sponsors gave out items to assist with interviews and bank employees donated work attire.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego – CB&T sponsored the nonprofit's signature event, "An Evening of Changing Lives,” which enabled the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego to serve thousands of youths with life-changing programs.

Local Leadership

CB&T empowers our bankers to make local decisions. We receive valuable feedback from each community through regional advisory boards that helps guide the direction of the bank and ensure consideration of local interests.
• Officers make credit decisions locally
• Product pricing is established locally
• Products are adjusted to fit the individual market needs
• Employees are active members in their respective communities
• Charitable giving and sponsorships decisions are determined locally
• Grow Your Career Through the Elevate Program
At CB&T, we’re committed to helping our employees grow in their career. ELEVATE represents what truly makes us unique, and that’s the expertise and experience of our local bankers. ELEVATE articulates the mission in Retail and Business Banking: enhancing local value, authority, teamwork and empowerment. This mission is accomplished through four tenets:
• Capability and knowledge building through our champion program

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Creating a work environment that welcomes and embraces diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts isn’t just a strategic business priority—it’s the right thing to do. At CB&T, we strive to create a diverse and inclusive workplace that champions our associates’ differences and reflects our clients and the communities we serve. DEI is a top priority at CB&T and the foundation of how we treat one another and conduct business. We value our associates’ unique experiences and backgrounds and foster an environment of understanding, inclusion and mutual respect.

The heart of our DEI program is our employee resource groups. These are self-supported, employee-led groups that increase DEI awareness among our teams and future employees. These groups provide a place to share ideas, network, raise awareness of diversity, promote inclusiveness, build a culture of allies, develop personally and professionally, and connect to the community. We find that diversity in the workplace allows teams to come up with more creative solutions and be more productive and helps increase profitability—all while having more engaging conversations.
Just a few of our employee resource groups:

• African American Business Resource Group & Allies
• Asian / Pacific Islander Business Resource Group & Allies
• Emerging Leaders Business Resource Group
• Hispanic/Latino Business Resource Group & Allies
• Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Business Resource Group & Allies
• Women in Banking Business Resource Group
• Fostering a culture of respect and communication

“Diversity, equity and inclusion continues to be an important part of our conversations and actions at California Bank & Trust. By having open, respectful and engaging dialogue with one another, we know the organization is only made stronger. A positive culture starts when each person feels included, valued and heard. With these elements, we strive to make our employees feel like they can bring their authentic selves to work each day.”
