Corporate Overview
Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and steadily growing, professional services firm, providing quality products and services to a wide range of clients since 1989. SA-TECH currently provides program management, operations and maintenance, logistics, and engineering support services to the Department of Defense. Approximately 75% of SA-TECH’s current business is providing testing and training, range operations, and maintenance support for U.S Navy and Army customers. The majority of the remaining business involves providing program management support, systems engineering services, and logistics expertise to support Anti-Terrorism Force Protection effectiveness for the U.S. Navy’s facilities worldwide.

The company was incorporated by its owner, Mr. Timothy J. Adams, in 1989 and received its certification in 1991 as a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), and in 1995 as Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). As a result of this tenure, we have learned several key factors that we consider critical to success, including our ability to first listen to our clients' needs and then tailor our services to meet or exceed them. SA-TECH prides itself in having highly qualified employees who are able to respond to customer needs quickly and professionally. TMO Helps Air Force Test New Laser System
TMO’s Aerial Targets Flight Services (ATFS) team successfully completed a challenging mission to support the Air Force’s Demonstrator Laser Weapon System with high flying, high speed aerial targets at White Sands Missile Range, NM in late January 2017.

The target in this instance was the venerable BQM-34 Firebee. Although the BQM-34 is a very capable target, it was made even more relevant with the addition of specially designed wing-tip pods that could capture laser weapons performance data during live laser engagements. As TMO’s crews worked to prepare the target for operation on the date of the mission, the Air Force Research Lab’s (AFRL) team of laser weapon experts prepared their system: the Demonstrator Laser Weapon System.

After all preparations were made, the much anticipated countdown to launch finally began. When the count reached zero, the Firebee streaked into the sky with a blast from the rocket motor used for take-off.

While TMO’s ability to remotely control the target thousands of feet into the air and dozens of miles away, flying a precisely prescribed pattern, sounds pretty impressive, the AFRL’s laser’s ability to accurately engage the diagnostic pod as the target flew by is an even bigger deal!

TMO’s team was proud to have supported such an impressive weapon system, but once the laser engagement had concluded, the work continued for TMO as we dispatched personnel deep into the desert to retrieve the target. TMO’s BQM-34 target is recovered using a parachute. Once retrieved, the target is refurbished for use on other tests: such is the cycle of life for TMO’s aerial target systems.
