About The Disabilities Trust
We are a charity that works alongside people with an acquired brain injury, autism, and learning or physical disabilities to help them live as independently as possible.

Established 40 years ago, we have a proven track record of providing high quality services across the UK. These include: seven brain injury assessment and rehabilitation centres, seven residential care homes, 26 supported living accommodations and two hospitals for people with brain injuries, 11 residential care homes and seven supported living accommodations for people with autism and learning disabilities, four residential care homes for those with complex physical disabilities, and a school for children with autism and learning disabilities. We also provide person-centred support to people in their own homes.

Our services support around 750 people each year. 91% of our services are rated as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ or considered compliant by their respective regulators, the Care Quality Commission, Care Inspectorate Wales, Care Inspectorate Scotland, Healthcare Improvement Scotland or OFSTED. We are also the largest not-for-profit brain injury service provider in the UK.

We provide the individual care people need to live as full a life as possible. Staff work closely with those we support, their families and friends, local and health authorities, housing associations and others. Dedicated teams support people to move forward with their lives. They include specialists like physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) practitioners. We use innovative technologies and evidence-based clinical approaches to help the people we support thrive.

Through our Foundation, we also campaign, conduct research and pilot new ideas to amplify the voices of people who don’t access our core services. This includes survivors of domestic abuse and those in the criminal justice system with a brain injury.
