When it comes to hospital emergency room management, Schumacher Group looks to operate with a helping hand. Offering outsourced staffing and management services to emergency rooms, Schumacher Group provides medical professionals such as physicians and emergency room support staff, health care managers, medical directors, and other administrative staff. The company also offers scheduling, recruitment support, and medical billing and coding services. Schumacher Group operates through a handful of regional offices and serves about 200 hospitals in more than 20 states, most of which are located in the southern US. Chairman William C. Schumacher, M.D., founded the company in 1994.

The firm expands its client base by forming partnerships with independent medical centers and larger hospital groups. In 2009 Schumacher Group formed a partnership with CHRISTUS Health, which operates about 40 hospitals in the Southeast and Southwest.

Mr. Schumacher controls a majority stake in the physician-owned company.
