Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is an important part of a modern-day company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy – and one that’s particularly important to me. I believe that diversity fosters innovation and problem-solving because it challenges us to look at things from different perspectives. By ensuring that our organization reflects the makeup of the communities and customers we serve, not only are we promoting a culture of belonging, but we are building an organization that truly understands how our company can connect with and serve all of our customers. And that’s just one way diversity builds strength. The key is not only bringing people together with multiple points of view—but to embrace differences.
I am pleased to share that we are on the right path. Currently, more than 70% of our employees are people of color and more than 40% are female. Our senior leadership team has grown from 20% diverse a year ago to 50% diverse today. However, we still have room to improve and will continue to make this a priority. DEI will play an integral role in our strategy and path forward and will be a key part of our ongoing conversations, actions and decision making.
