60+ Years of Serving New Yorkers
From humble beginnings to national inspiration, Samaritan Daytop Village marked its 60th anniversary in 2020.

Over six decades ago, Samaritan Daytop Village had one mission in mind: To make a difference during a deadly heroin epidemic. That mission evolved over the years to respond to new epidemics, a homeless crisis, systemic racism and a pandemic. Samaritan Daytop Village continues to adapt, grow, and thrive to ensure the health and wellbeing of New Yorkers. It is a story where good lives.

Employee Spotlight - Rachel Marshall of the Young Mothers Program
It does not matter the path you took to reach the doors of Samaritan Daytop Village. If you possess a passion for helping others, a compassion for individuals facing adversity, and a desire to find purpose in your career, we want to talk with you.

Take for example Rachel Marshall. She first came to Samaritan Daytop Village as a client in our Veterans Program. She entered treatment and, in the process, found herself. At the time this video was made in 2020, Rachel was a Recovery Coach at our Young Mothers Program in Manhattan. The following year, Rachel was promoted to Case Manager.
