IEH Core Principles
At IEH, we believe:

In constantly challenging how we manage risks associated with food production.

In searching, finding, eradicating, and controlling risk.

In working with our partners to achieve “near zero food risk.”

Risks will not go away if we ignore them or if we do not actively manage them.

That no amount of effort or cost can justify the slightest risk to consumers.

Regulations for food production are basic minimums – we set a far higher bar for our clients.

In working with our partners to allow for efficient and sustainable production of wholesome foods.

In a broad, holistic view of risks that encompasses far more than the biological, chemical and physical risks.

That the current tool box for risk management is outdated. We are making the tool box of the future.
About Institute For Environmental Health
Dr. Mansour Samadpour and Dalia Alfi are the founders of IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group. Dalia and Mansour are both microbiologists, and graduates of the University of Washington. Mansour joined the faculty in the school of public health. He has been involved in most of the major U.S. outbreaks and recalls since Jack in the Box in 1993.

In 2001, following years of work in public health and environmental microbiology, as well as the epidemiology of foodborne outbreaks, Mansour and Dalia started IEH. The motivation for starting their company came from the realization that it is far more productive to work with food companies to enhance and monitor their food safety programs and prevent outbreaks, than to wait for crises to happen and try to detect them after they have occurred. Having their own company allowed them to prevent and respond more effectively to foodborne outbreaks, meet industry needs and move the field of food safety forward.

IEH partners with food companies to implement proactive approaches to manage food safety risks. We provide routine analytical support to the food industry through consultation, testing services, and regulatory support. We specialize in risk management, and implement programs proven to ensure strong food safety and quality standards, to prevent people from getting sick from food.

We are a privately held, family owned company and have grown rapidly since 2001, both organically and through acquisitions. Our success is fueled by the dedication of our team of scientists, laboratory analysts, food safety experts and consultants, and support staff.

We operate over 100 laboratories across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Germany, England, Austria, Australia, China, and the Netherlands.

Our team of highly experienced food safety consultants work directly with clients to design and implement testing programs.

We are a technical, innovative company, with over 50 approved and pending patents and more than 75 research publications.

We manufacture and distribute test kits, pathogen detection systems, and sampling devices through our partner companies.

Our contribution to public health and food safety is featured in the NY Times, CNN, Fast Company and Bloomberg.
