Hazard Pay
On 8/21/20, we were informed by our Human Resources Department that Success Rehabilitation applied for but was not awarded hazard pay funding for employees in life-sustaining occupations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This funding would have only been available to Direct Support Professional-level staff based on the state's outlined criteria. Through our provider associations, we informed our contacts in Governor Wolf's office that this was unacceptable given the nature of your work here at Success.

As an Executive Team, we reviewed funds that have recently become available to the company. Before receiving the Hazard Pay denial, these funds were for other expenses incurred due to COVID (PPE, technology for telehealth, etc.). We have decided to reallocate these funds to uphold the promise of Hazard Pay, which was proposed by the state. Ultimately, this was an easy decision for us to make, and our DSP team members will receive compensation for their outstanding work during these challenging times.

In summary, all Direct Support Professional Staff received Hazard Pay based on the total number of regular and overtime hours worked between March 2, 2020, and August 31, 2020. Success also be paid for the Hazard Pay's tax implications for staff to receive the most significant benefit possible from these funds. These funds were deposited into staff accounts on Friday, September 25, 2020.
