Champion Laboratories has 10 manufacturing and distribution locations in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. The company is owned by UCI International (formerly United Components), which is owned by New Zealand investment firm Rank Group Limited.

Champion Laboratories' six manufacturing centers in the US, Canada, France, and the UK produce about 2,500,000 filters per week. Additional brand names include Encore, Mopar, TRD, Mobil, PetroClear Filters, Royal Purple, and STP, to name a few. It also makes private label filters for its customers.

Champion Laboratories started as Kleen Pak Manufacturing Company, a filter manufacturer, in West Salem, Illinois in 1955.
