As a family-owned winery, it's our priority that future generations are able to experience the natural resources we enjoy today. Co-founders Ernest and Julio Gallo laid the foundation for our commitment to the environment in the 1930’s when they introduced an innovative approach to land conservation in the North Coast known as the “50/50 Give Back” plan. For every acre of land planted in vineyard, one acre of property was set aside for wildlife habitat — a practice continued today.
