Diversity and Inclusion
CHRISTUS Health has long recognized the importance of diversity and inclusion. These fundamentals not only underpin our core mission, they also guide our interaction with patients, associates and the communities we serve.

To guide and champion these efforts, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion focuses on training and education, recruitment and retention, equity in care, community partnership and supplier diversity and creating accountability across the board.

At CHRISTUS Health, we define diversity as "everyone and everything with no one and nothing left out." We recognize the worth of each unique human being, and respect personal differences because they strengthen us collectively.

We care about every person who is part of our mission. Our definition of inclusion is "engaging all who participate in our mission." At CHRISTUS, we believe it is critical that each person is able to contribute their best talents, skills, abilities and experiences. We are committed to fostering and encouraging growth and opportunity for all. Creating an inclusive environment is directly linked to our performance, profitability and success.

Our mission here at CHRISTUS Health is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ for ALL. Our patients' receive treatment that includes caring for each part of their total being. We strive to ensure each patient gets culturally and linguistically competent care tailored to their unique needs.

Through our continued focus on excellence, we embrace CHRISTUS' sacred name and seek to create a culture in which our mission and core values are truly exemplified, ensuring that the lives of those we serve are sustained and strengthened by the care we provide.

Unique individuals united in the spirit of excellence . . . united in a mission of healing. That's CHRISTUS Health.
Development
CHRISTUS Health is committed to supporting the development needs of CHRISTUS leaders and Associates in order to help them realize a greater degree of personal and professional achievement and satisfaction. Associates who are committed to learning and professional development enhance our organization and are better able to support CHRISTUS Health's Journey to Excellence.

CHRISTUS Academy
This annual, year-long program is dedicated to identifying and cultivating CHRISTUS' emerging leaders. Each year, thirty participants are chosen to complete core studies in finance, governance, strategy and business practices. They interact with senior executives, industry experts, academics and practitioners in CHRISTUS regions. Working together, they take their learning and experience and produce relevant, actionable recommendations on important operational issues.

CHRISTUS Center for Management Excellence (CCME)
Wanting to provide leadership development for greater numbers of our frontline managers, supervisors and directors, we founded CCME as a week-long program that includes sessions on healthcare finance, interpersonal relations, and management tips and tools. The response has been remarkable with more than 90 percent of participants rating the program excellent, and with an increased understanding of the mission combined with the opportunity to focus on effective leadership - we are making a difference.

Mentorship Program
Through our mentorship program we have found that it is an excellent way to promote understanding and diversity. Mentors and mentees drawn from different backgrounds learn from each other. Focused attention and guidance leads to Associates who are increasingly proactive in pursuing development opportunities and increasingly committed to our mission.

Executive Talent Development Program

Leadership Enrichment
An important element of our Catholic heritage is the ability to reflect and consider what it means to be an Associate in a Catholic, faith-based organization. At CHRISTUS Health, work is a ministry and leadership a calling, and the Leadership Enrichment program provides a solid foundation for understanding and advancing our health care ministry while incorporating spirituality into inspiring leadership. Our leaders are role models within our organization, helping others to develop their God-given talents and actively contribute to the realization of a vibrant, spiritually-based organization.
