Caring for North Carolina
At UNC Health Care, we are always looking for new ways to provide the highest quality care to our patients across North Carolina. We lead, we teach, we care for people across the state through our various hospitals and hospitals systems, our physicians networks and our affiliation with the UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.
We are working to become the nation's leading academic medical system. To meet that goal, we are building an informational infrastructure to give our providers the means to offer the best care possible. We also offer education and professional development programs to help providers stay current on best practices and new technologies that can assist them.
Our relationship with the UNC School of Medicine, one of the nation's top academic medical centers, provides us with the opportunity to train the next generation of health care providers. Forty percent of UNC School of Medicine graduates go on to practice in North Carolina, 25 percent in underserved areas. Additionally, the nationally eminent research enterprise at the School of Medicine gives UNC Health Care a powerful pathway for moving the results of biomedical research from medical school laboratories to patient care settings.
Offering the highest quality care is the most important part of our responsibility to the state of North Carolina. The infrastructure and instruction we offer are the tools UNC Health Care's staff employ to not only treat illness but promote wellness. Across the state and in Chapel Hill, UNC Health Care offers programs and services that meet our patients needs and exceed their expectations.
From the mountains to the coast, UNC Health Care is there, providing care to North Carolinians from all 100 counties and from across the country.
