About Right at School
Right at School provides safe, fun, and meaningful student enrichment programs across North America. We do this to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give parents peace of mind.
About 80% of us work in 350+ preschools, elementary schools and middle schools across the continent. Those of us who work inside schools are nurturing, inspiring and fun, and we’re deeply committed to serving students in our local communities. Think of Ms. Frizzle from Magic School Bus, Mr. Keating from Dead Poets Society, real world debate coach Melvin B. Tolson, or your own favorite teacher. As educators, coaches and program managers, we strive to create safe and welcoming communities in which we inspire and enrich the students we serve.
About 15% of us are local and regional field leaders who support the school teams. Most of us have served in schools in the past, so we “get it.” We are mission-driven and results-oriented, and we’re committed to making our teams succeed and our programs exceptional. Think of coaches like Vince Lombardi and Dawn Staley who drive their teams to success because of their commitment to excellence, respect for the individuals they support, and drive to win.
About 5% of us work with the central office. We’re in curriculum, customer service, human resources, licensing, technology, etc. While many of us were once educators, we also come from business schools, doctoral programs and a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. We’re committed to building the systems and structures for Right at School and those we serve to succeed. Think of Mary Barra’s relentless focus on quality, safety, team building and consumers. Or Jack Ma’s tenacity, integrity, and eye on the future.
Regardless of our role at Right at School, we share a common culture based on our core values. As we often say, we go the extra MILE: We are Mission-Led, Innovation-Driven, Locally-Focused and Efficiency-Obsessed.
We’re MISSION LED
We inspire a love of learning, support schools and give parents peace of mind.
We know we can only achieve our mission by recruiting, supporting and retaining high-performing program personnel and by providing them with the resources they need to succeed.
Experience has shown that our programs significantly improve the quality of life for our students, parents and school administrators. That’s why we are so focused on growth. We’ll do whatever it takes to serve more and more families across North America.
We’re INNOVATIVE
We don’t rest on past success.
Our role as Right at School employees is to continually seek new ways to serve our students, parents and schools. All of us are responsible for improving our current offerings and identifying new opportunities to meet the ever-changing needs of those we serve.
We learn by listening to our students, parents, and administrators, and by staying abreast of best practices in the field. No one person or team is responsible for innovation at Right at School—it is the price of entry for all of us. We take high quality student enrichment seriously and recognize that continuous innovation is required to achieve our goals.
We’re LOCAL
We become part of the school’s fabric by hiring locally and participating in school and district events to better understand community norms and school nuances. We regularly learn from our school administrators, PTAs, teachers, students, and our vendor-partners how we can best meet their needs and achieve our shared goals.
We speak with parents face-to-face every day at pick up and regularly online to solicit their feedback. Best of all, we get to know our students’ individual needs, joys and learning styles as we build engaged communities of learners and friends.
While we’re locally focused, this is not to say we’re against centrally designed systems and structures. Right at School programs are safer, more fun and meaningful, and better managed and evaluated thanks to our global approach. But we never forget: All education is local.
We’re EFFICIENT
We are resolute in our drive to reduce expenses and keep fees as low as possible. We are vigilant stewards of equipment and supplies, diligent in maintaining proper staff ratios, and skilled in leveraging technology to simplify administrative needs.
We are relentless in asking ourselves: how can we do this smarter and better? Our commitment to efficiency is crucial to keeping our programs affordable and serving more and more families across North America.
One more note, not listed in our four core values but central to our culture and our success: We never forget that we were kids who loved great educators.
This is why we have our childhood pictures on our website. This is why we show vulnerability and call on each other for help. This is why we are curious, imaginative, and good-natured.
And this is why we have great hope for our future!

Our MissionOur mission at Right at School is to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give parents peace of mind.
Right at School provides safe, engaging and meaningful in-school and extracurricular programs to enrich the lives of students, give parents peace of mind and enable schools to focus on their academic mission.
We’re passionate about providing a wide range of exceptional and affordable enrichment, child-care and recess programs before, during and after school to as many students, parents and schools as possible. In 2011 we served 200 students per day; today the number is over 20,000.
We succeed at this goal because we understand the synergy between two potentially competing ideals:
1. All education is local. Right at School is at our best when we operate as part of the local school and community fabric; and
2. Enrichment excellence requires systemic thinking and systematic execution. Right at School is at its best when we share proven strategies across all of our programs to improve quality, reduce costs, and continually innovate.
Just named to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Companies for the third year, and Crain's Fast Fifty Companies of 2018, Right at School is looking for dependable, personable, resourceful, and imaginative people to educate our children in fun and interactive ways.

We have significant experience with PreK- 8th grade out-of-school-time enrichment—it’s all that we do. We pride ourselves in our expertise in social-emotional learning, experiential education and the power of play. We also manage specialty enrichment classes and providers on behalf of the district, such as LEGO-robotics, martial arts, foreign languages, music, drama and more.
Our school partners know that Right at School offers a turn-key solution for their districts and meets the individual needs of each school and student. Districts also appreciate that we understand and seek to align with their strategic plans by attending board meetings, providing free babysitting for PTA meetings, and becoming part of the school and district fabric.
"Bringing the Right at School Program into our District has been one of the best decisions that we have ever made. It allows us to focus on the educational opportunities provided to students during the instructional day and Right at School to focus on enrichment opportunities available to students after the bell rings! It is a true partnership."

Our live training supports staff in blending concepts from their online learning with their senior mentors.
Training topics include child development, positive guidance, program quality, safety, curriculum and partnership building. All new staff are partnered with an RAS mentor to support their on-boarding and ensure a smooth transition for their programs. Area Managers then ensure continual growth through weekly program visits to assess program quality and to provide additional resources and coaching for program staff.
"Right at School is in my classroom in the mornings for their before school program. I listen and watch as I prepare for my day, and I’m so impressed by the quality of the program. I love how sincere and caring your staff is to the students they work with, and I am extremely grateful for how easy and professional I have found your staff to work with myself."
